For our 9th graders and students who are new to high school, we will host a special welcome session at 5:15 p.m. in the BHS Auditorium to help students and families get acclimated to high school and review important information. Happenings at BHS
-The BHS Volleyball Team went to the Wildcat Classic and won the tournament this past weekend! Great job ladies! Way to represent, we are proud of you.
-Tennis played this past Tuesday and fell short 9-10 to San Angelo.
-BHS's cross country girls won the Medina Valley CC meet. They were announced as the large school meet champions.
-BHS's water polo team fell to the cross town rivals Friday night here at home.
-Boerne HS Football traveled to Round Rock Westwood this past Friday night and won by a score of 34-14. It was a great road win as we launch into the season. The Hounds take on Laredo this coming Friday night here at home.
- Marching Band, Color Guard, Dance Team, and Cheer Teams have been practicing and perfecting their routines leading up to the first football game this past week in Round Rock. We host Laredo this Friday with kickoff scheduled for 7 pm. We can't wait to see what they have in store for us here at home! Go Hounds!
PEP RALLY: Pre-Registration Form
For safety and security purposes, all guests (parents, family members, friends, etc.) must complete the form below prior to attending the Pep Rally on Friday. To complete the ID check and print the stickers, the form must be completed by 2 pm on Friday. If you complete the form on time, you will be able to pick up your sticker in the gym foyer as you enter for the Pep Rally on Friday. If you do not submit it before this time, you will need to report to the front office to check in and get your visitor sticker.
Seating (Standing): Seniors at the bottom (first row), then Juniors, then Sophomores, with Freshmen at the top. Please remember to stay out of the walkways in the front and on the stairs. Seniors... you CANNOT stand in the walkway in front of the first row. Please leave that open for foot traffic. The first row should be Seniors on the actual first row of stands... NOT in the walkway.
Chants: The Cheerleaders will be in front of the Student Section. They will lead many cheers and chants. Please follow along and participate with them. Also, the Seniors in the front row will lead some chants. They usually bring a marker board to help communicate which one they will do. Make sure that if you are in the Student Section, you participate in the chants. Yes... everybody all the way to the top... Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen. For it to sound and look good, we need everybody's participation!!!
Behavior Expectations: There will be no warnings for horseplay, foul language or cussing, throwing items, etc. You will be escorted out of the game without any refund by an administrator and a police officer. You will also have consequences once administration meets with you the following week. This could include ISS, out-of-school suspension, and/or being banned from attending extracurricular events. Again, at the game, there are no warnings. Please also note that security cameras are present at the stadium.
From the Counselors...
We’re officially in the 4th week of school, and the excitement of the new school year is settling into a routine. By now, students are getting familiar with their schedules, teachers, and expectations but this is also the time when assignments, homework, and deadlines can start to pile up. If your student is feeling overwhelmed or having trouble keeping up, now is the perfect time to pause, get organized, and establish good habits before the semester gets even busier.
A Few Tips for Staying on Track:
Check your assignments daily and know what is due.
Use your planner, calendar, or school platform to keep track of upcoming deadlines.
Break larger assignments into smaller steps rather than waiting until the last minute.
Ask questions early if you don't understand an assignment or course material.
Take advantage of tutorials and teacher support.
Reach out for help if you are feeling overwhelmed.
Remember, Greyhounds, you don't have to figure everything out on your own! Your teachers, counselors, and support staff are here to help you get organized, stay on track, and have a successful year.
Small steps today can make a BIG difference tomorrow.

HONORS/AP® EXIT GUIDELINES
Exit processes are in place to assist students in making sound course selection decisions. A student who petitions to exit a HONORS/AP® course must meet the following criteria:
conference with the teacher
completion of course assignments
attendance at recommended tutorials
The campus may/may not grant the request to exit the HONORS/AP® course based on the following factors: teacher input, student performance, availability of space in other courses, and the timing of the request. A student experiencing success, typically defined as the ability to maintain a “C” or better semester average, should remain in the course for the semester. A recommended change from a HONORS/AP® course may occur between the 4th - 5th weeks of school, or at the end of the 1 st semester. Grades earned in the original class transfer without alteration when a student transfers from a HONORS/AP® to an Academic course. Grades earned in the first three weeks of a dropped class can affect UIL eligibility.
We will begin providing Honors/AP drop forms on August 31st in the counseling office. Forms will not be accepted after Sept. 11th.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application:
Families are encouraged to complete the application for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals availablehere or return the completed paper form to any campus office.
In the first few weeks back, this is what the faculty and staff have addressed the most:
1) Student has an ID, but is not displaying it properly - it must be on the front of your body and visible at all times upon entering Boerne HS. It can't be in or on your bag, in your pocket, forgotten in your class, etc.
2) Students being tardy to class, especially arriving to school - when the tardy bell rings, you should physically be in your assigned class. Not close to it, on the way to it, or still in the restroom.
3) Headgear, mostly caps, worn on campus -no headgear (caps, hats, beanies, hoodies, etc.) is allowed to be worn on campus. This is a safety and security issue.
4) Shirts are not long enough and are not appropriately covering the body - the midsection of the body, back, chest, and undergarments cannot be visible.
5) Shorts, skirts, skorts, and dresses are not long enough and do not appropriately cover the body - these items must be mid-thigh or longer.
6) Cell phones and ear buds - once students enter the courtyard, all cell phones and ear buds should be put away and out of sight at all times per the new Texas laws. We have had to address some students in violation of the law.

The "Greyhound Athletic Booster Club" (GABC) supports all athletic teams at Boerne High School, working to help our student-athletes achieve their best and make the most of their high school athletic careers. Championships are earned by teams committed to excellence and benefit from complete “buy-in” and support from the student-athletes, coaches, student body, administrators, parents, and community.
By becoming a member of the GABC, you not only support the Boerne High School Athletic Department, individual sport programs, coaches, parents, and student athletes, but you also make a smart financial move. All contributions, donations, sponsorships, and memberships are considered charitable contributions and are tax-deductible. 26-27 School Year Attendance Procedure
Early Pick-Up & Sign-Out
For safety reasons, student pick-up/sign-out ends 30 minutes before dismissal (3:30 PM).
Parent/Guardian Pick-Up
Parents/guardians must sign students out in the BHS Front Office and present valid photo ID.
Only parents/guardians or emergency contacts listed in Skyward may pick up students.
Please allow time for the office to retrieve your student from class. Students may be testing, in athletics, or in a lab.
Students Who Drive or Ride with a Student Driver
The student driver must have a valid BHS parking permit. If not, a parent/guardian must come to the Front Office to sign out the student.
Only Seniors with an Off-Campus Lunch sticker may leave campus for lunch. All other students require a parent/guardian to sign them out.
For planned early releases, parents should submit the Skyward Family Access → Attendance Notification → Early Release Request by 8:00 AM that day, or preferably the day before.
Students should pick up their dismissal pass from the Attendance Office before school or during a class change.
If riding with a current-student sibling, submit a separate request for each student and include the sibling’s name in the reason.
At dismissal time, students must return to the Attendance Office, sign out through the Raptor system, and receive a Raptor pass to show the security guard at the front gate.
Same-Day Appointments/Emergencies: Call the Attendance Office at 830-357-2206. The online form is not continuously monitored and will not guarantee a same-day pass.
Students Who Do Not Drive
A parent/guardian or approved emergency contact must come to the Front Office with valid photo ID to sign out the student.
Students Who Become Sick at School
Students who feel ill should report to the school nurse. If the nurse sends the student home, the remainder of the day is considered an excused absence.
If the nurse does not send the student home and a parent chooses to check them out, the absence is unexcused unless a parent note is subsequently provided.
Documenting an Absence
Students should submit excuse notes and supporting documentation to the BHS Attendance Office when they return to school.
Documentation must be submitted within 48 hours of the absence and must include:
Student full name and ID number
Date and reason for absence
Parent name and phone number
Original documentation must be submitted to the Attendance Office; emails are not accepted.
For parent excuses only, families may use the Skyward Family Access → Attendance Notification → Excuse an Absence form. This should not be used for doctor visits, school activities, or other documented absences.
Please allow 2–3 school days for processing.
