Boerne Independent School District continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to financial integrity and responsible stewardship of public funds, earning an “A” Superior Achievement rating in the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2025–2026 rating year. The achievement marks another milestone in the district’s longstanding record of fiscal responsibility, with Boerne ISD earning an “A” rating in 24 of the past 25 years.
The School FIRST system evaluates school districts on financial management, accountability, solvency, transparency, and compliance with state and federal requirements. The superior rating reflects the district’s ongoing focus on sound financial practices and effective resource management in support of student success.
“Responsible financial stewardship is essential to delivering on our promise to students, staff, and families,” said Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft. “This recognition reflects the thoughtful work of our Business and Finance team, our Board of Trustees and district leadership to manage public resources responsibly while keeping student learning and staff support at the center of our decisions.”
Boerne ISD’s financial practices align with the district’s broader strategic commitment to maximizing funding and efficiencies while ensuring resources are directed toward meaningful educational outcomes. Through annual financial audits, ongoing financial planning and transparent reporting, the district works to maintain accountability and identify opportunities to use resources effectively.
The district’s financial oversight supports its mission to provide exceptional educational opportunities for every student while navigating the financial chalenges facing public education in Texas.
“Every dollar entrusted to Boerne ISD represents an investment in our students and their future,” said Wesley Scott, Chief Financial Officer. “Our team remains focused on accurate reporting, compliance, thoughtful planning and making informed financial decisions that support our students, staff, and schools.”
Boerne ISD’s commitment to financial integrity is one component of its broader dedication to excellence, which includes maintaining high academic standards, supporting employees, and strengthening relationships with families and community partners.
