Last week, we met with each grade level to review several important campus expectations that help keep Boerne High School safe, welcoming, and a positive place for all students to learn. We are asking for your assistance in reinforcing these expectations at home so we can work together to ensure our students are doing their part.
The topics we discussed included:
Student IDs: Students are expected to wear their current Boerne ISD ID around their neck and visible at all times during the school day. IDs should not be kept in pockets or backpacks. This is an important safety and security measure that helps us identify who belongs on our campus.
Campus Safety and Security: Students should never open or prop open exterior doors for any reason throughout the school day. All doors must remain secured to help protect our students and staff.
Campus Cleanliness: Students are expected to pick up after themselves, especially during lunch, and throw away their trash. We take pride in our campus, and keeping it clean is everyone's responsibility.
Tardies and Absences: The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. Students must be in their assigned classroom and ready for instruction by 8:30 a.m. Anyone who is not in class by that time will be marked tardy. Students who accumulate numerous tardies will be assigned after-school detention. We also reminded students of the importance of regular attendance and being present and on time each day.
We appreciate your partnership and support in helping us maintain these expectations. Reinforcing these simple but important reminders at home makes a difference and helps us create a safe, respectful, and responsible campus for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support of Boerne High School and our Greyhounds!

Student Parking on Campus
Dear Greyhound Students and Families,
We are writing to share an important update regarding campus parking rules, space availability, and enforcement. To ensure the safety of our campus, proper traffic flow, and fair allocation of spaces, all students driving to school must strictly adhere to campus parking regulations.
Please review the following key policies and availability updates with your student:
Current Space Availability: Please note that overflow parking is now completely sold out. We are reviewing any available slots and will continue to monitor as we have students move or withdraw to potentially add students to the parking list.
Valid Parking Stickers Required: Every vehicle parked on campus must be properly registered and clearly display an official parking sticker in their windshield.
Designated Parking Locations: Students must park exclusively in their assigned reserved/painted spot or in designated overflow parking areas (if an overflow sticker was previously purchased). Parking in unauthorized spaces or in another student's assigned spot is strictly prohibited.
Strict Enforcement & Unpaid Fines: Active ticket enforcement has begun. Please note that students with unpaid parking tickets risk having their on-campus parking privileges revoked.
Towing Notice: Vehicles parked on campus without a valid parking sticker are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.
Questions, Parking Sticker Purchases & Vehicle Updates: If your student wishes to purchase one of the remaining reserved spots, needs a replacement sticker, needs to register an alternate vehicle for their assigned spot, or has any parking inquiries, please have them visit Ms. Sutton in the Assistant Principals' (AP) Office or email her at Carlie.Sutton@boerneisd.net
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our campus safe and organized.

University of Texas - Admissions - Attn: Juniors
Students & Parents of Juniors,
The University of Texas at Austin has announced changes to its admissions process related to Texas Senate Bill 175, which will impact how some students are considered for admission beginning with future entering classes. Families are encouraged to review the information from UT Austin carefully, particularly students who are considering UT Austin as part of their college plans. Please review the letter linked below from UT Austin for complete details and information about these changes.
We are officially in the final stretch of the semester! As we inch closer to the end of the first semester, it is important for students to stay focused, persevere, and remain intentional about their academic progress. Students- now is the time to attend tutorials, follow up with teachers, stay on top of assignments and due dates, and take advantage of every opportunity to improve. Remember, students need to earn a 70 or better to receive .5 credit in each class to successfully complete the first semester. With fewer than 12 class periods remaining in each course, every day and every assignment counts. Keep pushing, stay committed, and finish the semester strong, Greyhounds!
A Few Tips for Staying on Track:
Check your assignments daily and know what is due.
Use your planner, calendar, or school platform to keep track of upcoming deadlines.
Google Classroom links directly to the Google Calendar with links back to assignments.
Break larger assignments into smaller steps rather than waiting until the last minute.
Ask questions early if you don't understand an assignment or course material.
Take advantage of tutorials and teacher support.
Reach out for help if you are feeling overwhelmed.
Remember, Greyhounds, you don't have to figure everything out on your own! Your teachers, counselors, and support staff are here to help you get organized, stay on track, and have a successful year.
Small steps today can make a BIG difference tomorrow.
Juniors: Start Planning for Senior Release Eligibility!
Juniors interested in having Senior Release as an option for next school year should be working toward meeting their College, Career, and Military (CCMR) graduation requirement. Students are encouraged to follow up with their counselor to verify whether they have met the CCMR requirement or identify any remaining steps needed to become eligible. Remember, CCMR must be completed before the end of junior year to qualify for Senior Release consideration!

We want to help families navigate attendance and early release procedures smoothly this school year.
Early Release & Student Pick-Up
For safety reasons, student pick-up/sign-out ends at 3:30 PM (30 minutes before dismissal).
Parents/guardians or approved emergency contacts must present valid photo ID when checking out a student.
Only contacts listed in Skyward Family Access may pick up students.
Please allow time for the office to locate and retrieve your student from class.
Planned Early Releases
Submit early-release requests through the Skyward Attendance Notification Tile by 8:00 AM the day of dismissal, or preferably the day before.
Students should pick up their dismissal pass from the Attendance Office before school or during a class change.
Students must return to the Attendance Office at the designated time to complete the sign-out process and receive their Raptor pass.
Same-day appointments or emergencies: Please call the Attendance Office at 830-357-2206. Online requests are not continuously monitored.
Students Who Drive
Students who drive—or ride with a current BHS student who drives—must have a valid BHS parking permit. Otherwise, a parent/guardian must come into the Front Office to sign the student out.
Only seniors with an Off-Campus Lunch sticker may leave campus for lunch. All other students must be signed out by a parent/guardian.
If Your Student Becomes Sick
Students who feel ill should report to the school nurse. If the nurse sends the student home, the remainder of the day is excused. If a parent chooses to check out a student after the nurse determines they should remain at school, the absence is unexcused unless a parent note is provided.
Documenting Absences
Submit original excuse notes/documentation to the Attendance Office within 48 hours of the absence.
Parent excuses may also be submitted through the Skyward Attendance Notification Tile.
Medical, dental, court, DPS, college visit, and other documentation should be submitted in writing; emails are not accepted.
Please allow 2–3 school days for attendance documentation to be processed.
